Automation Engineer in Production

Your Role

We are growing and need more people! Therefore, we are now looking for Automation Engineers within Saab Dynamics composite manufacturing in Malmslätt. You will be part of a smaller team of 16 people, with additional colleagues at other locations for support if needed.

As an Automation Engineer in Production, you will play a central and influential role in developing, implementing, and maintaining our automated production processes. You will work in a structured and independent manner and collaborate with many other departments such as quality, project managers, planning, development, and purchasing. We work in cross-functional teams where everyone can contribute within their area of expertise.

Your goal is to minimize disruptions, bottlenecks, and errors in flows and automated manufacturing systems. You drive the development of our digitization, efficiency, and flexibility forward. You will suggest improvements and investments based on facts, statistics, analyses, and economic conditions. You will also be involved in the startup and project planning of new manufacturing lines.

Examples of tasks, depending on your previous experience:

• Design and configuration of automation systems
• Programming of control systems
• Installation and integration of new automation components
• Actively participate in strategic planning meetings and decision-making to influence production direction
• Optimization of production processes to maximize efficiency and quality
• Ensure compliance with safety standards
• Perform troubleshooting and maintenance of automated systems
• Collaborate with production staff to ensure smooth workflows

Your Profile

We are looking for someone with relevant post-secondary education or equivalent work experience in Automation and Robotics. You have good insight and experience in production and automated production processes. As a person, you are curious, meticulous, and good at collaborating. You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and English.

It is advantageous if you have:

• A degree in automation, electronics, electrical engineering, or experience in a related field
• Experience working with automated production processes
• Strong programming skills, including knowledge of PLC programming
• Knowledge of sensors, robotics, and other automation components
• Ability to analyze data and implement improvements
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good knowledge of using TIA portal

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, there may be requirements for certain citizenship.
